One of the many misconceptions about fame is that it changes people – and often in a negative way. But A-list Kapuso star Jasmine Curtis-Smith and notable influencers Joyce Pring-Triviño and Emilienne Vigier prove that fame can be a good thing, especially when people use their influence to create positive impact in the community.
The three famous personalities have gained recognition in their respective fields. Jasmine is an award-winning actress with millions of followers online. Joyce is a renowned host and content creator, amassing millions of followers across different social media platforms, while Emilienne is a golf enthusiast and beauty and fashion influencer with more than a hundred thousand followers on Instagram.
Using their social media platforms, they are able to spread awareness on different causes together with World Vision, a Christian humanitarian organization, where they have been longtime ambassadors advocating children empowerment through child sponsorship, especially for those living in vulnerable circumstances.
Jasmine has been a Child Sponsor for almost 12 years and has so far sponsored 10 kids. What inspires her to continue helping children is seeing them build a better future for themselves. She exclaims, “This is our amazing role as a child sponsor, encouragers of education and supporters of the future generation.”
For Joyce, who has managed to sponsor 11 kids, Child Sponsorship highlights the importance of education among children. “When I started my child sponsorship journey more than 10 years ago with World Vision Philippines, one of their advocacies that I really wanted to support was that of education. As someone who has been in a personal journey of transformation through the power of education – I’ve seen how profoundly learning can be used to better one’s life – that’s why it has become my dream for every Filipino child to be able to access quality education through our work with World Vision.”
For Emilienne, who has sponsored five kids throughout her four years of being a Child Sponsor, being a sponsor is her way of helping kids achieve their dreams and goals, “Act of service is indeed my way of showing those around me how much I care (like a mom haha) & I’m glad that I get to continue this sponsorship journey while being a World Vision Ambassador starting today. Let’s help kids achieve their aspirations in life one day at a time with what we have and with the help of many altogether as one.”
Like Jasmine, Joyce and Emilienne, you too can help children reach their full potential and achieve their dreams by becoming a Child Sponsor today. For as low as Php25 a day or Php750 per month, you can help provide life-changing essentials for kids such as education, clean, water, health and nutrition. As a sponsor, you can also build a relationship with the child through letters, photos, and updates.
Ultimately, the goal is to help the sponsored child and his/her family to break free from poverty and build a sustainable community for them.
