CEMEX promotes ‘Listo Tayo!’ road safety awareness at the Iloilo Bike Festival

As advocates of safer road behavior, CEMEX Philippines recently showcased its Listo Tayo! Road Safety Awareness campaign at the Iloilo Bike Festival 2022. The program aims to promote a culture of road safety among motorists especially the vulnerable road users such as cyclists.

Since 2013, CEMEX Philippines’ Listo Tayo! campaign has been promoting a culture of road safety across CEMEX operations for both employees and community members alike. Over 10,000 students, motorists and vulnerable road users in various parts of Luzon, Bicol and Cebu have been educated on the basics and importance of road safety practices.

For the Iloilo Bike Festival, over 2,000 bike enthusiasts from Western Visayas participated in the three-day festival which included cycling races, a bike exhibit and expo, a symposium, a food fair, and awarding ceremonies.

For its part, CEMEX conducted a seminar at Iloilo City’s Festive Walk Mall on the basics and importance of road safety practices. Harry Rovillos, Supply Chain Operations Manager, facilitated the talk which included topics such as identifying the blind spots of vehicles, especially large trucks, as well as the space they need in making wide turns.

A CEMEX truck was set up outside the venue to allow bikers to experience firsthand what it’s like to sit in a truck driver’s seat and see for themselves what the driver’s view limitations are.

“Protecting the vulnerable road users as we share the road with them is a very important strategy of the company. It is encouraging to see our operations continuing to raise awareness to support public safety,” shared Edwin Hufemia, CEMEX Philippines Vice President for Supply Chain.
